The wood should be clean and dry (max. 15% moisture content). Any pits should be filled. If the wood has not been previously impregnated, it should be pre-treated with the colourless biocide. Additionally, Njord Separating Primer should be used in the case of:
– softwoods with high resin content, immediately after scraping off excess resin and degreasing with extraction benzine,
– light colours applied to hardwoods (oak, ash) to avoid discolouration of the coating.
Paint at the ambient and surface temperature of 10℃ – 30℃. Stir thoroughly before use. Apply in a thin layer along the growth rings of the wood. Avoid damp patches. Normally two layers are recommended, but in case of bright colours we recommend applying a third layer Applying more layers increases gloss but reduces transparency. The final colour of the painted surface depends on the type and quality of the wood, its absorbency and the number and thickness of layers applied. To avoid differences in colour, it is recommended that a product with the same production batch number is used to coat the entire surface, or alternatively that products from several containers with different batch numbers are mixed.
Note! Due to printing limitations, the colour shown on the packaging is for illustrative purposes only and cannot be used as a reason for complaint. Check the colour on a colour chart available in the shop. The final colour of painted surface depends, among others, on wood type and quality, its absorptivity and also on the number and thickness of applied layers.
